Configure Stocklists

Implementer Example - Partners in Health

Here is an example of a stock list system used by Partners in Health at JJ Dossen Hospital in Harper, Liberia.

  1. Every month, PIH's central warehouse delivers stock to the pharmacy at JJ Dossen Hospital

  2. PIH has a "stock list" for JJ Dossen that includes all of the items that we want to send to JJ Dossen monthly, and the quantity we think they need monthly. This list exists in Openboxes and on paper forms

  3. Once per month, the pharmacist at JJ Dossen fill out the paper form. They enter the total quantity of each item on hand. The total quantity filled equals the max qty on the form minus the qty on hand

  4.  The PIH warehouse receives the form and creates a stock movement from a stock list. Because the stock list exists in Openboxes, the stock movement will preload the entire list. The warehouse team can then make changes based on the data provided on the form.

  5. A shipment is sent based on the stock list form. We can track in Openboxes exactly what was requested vs. what was sent and why

Should I use stock lists in Openboxes?

That depends on your situation! If you have a scenario where you are sending the same items to the same place over and over again, creating a stock list is a great way to reduce the time involved in that process.
